Ester 2:1 After these things, when the wrath of King Ahasuerus subsided, he remembered Vashti, what she had done, and what had been decreed against her.
Because a law of the Medes and the Persians could not be changed, even the king could not change it, even the king could not restore Vashti to her former position.
The second chapter corresponds to our second Hebrew letter Beit. Beit- HOUSE, duality as in HUSBAND and WIFE; also division between good and evil, etc.
Ester 2:2-4 Then the king's servants who attended him said: "Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king; and let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather all the beautiful young virgins to Shushan the citadel, into the women's quarters, under the custody of Hegai the king's eunuch, custodian of the women. And let beauty preparations be given them. Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti." This thing pleased the king, and he did so.
Hegai means “My meditations” or “Silent Worker”. He represents Ruach HaKodesh.
Just as a search for a bride was made through out the whole kingdom, so the Good News of Yeshua has been spread through out the whole world and a search for a suitable bride was made for HaShem.
Ester 2:5-6 In Shushan the citadel there was a certain Jew whose name was Mordecai the son of Jair, the son of Shimei, the son of Kish, a Benjamite. Kish had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captives who had been captured with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away.
Mordecai (Mordekhai)- means “Deity of Mars”. He symbolizes “Yeshua, G-d the Son”.Mordecai, because of the actions of his ancestors, was born in a foreign land. Yeshua, because of the sins of mankind, left His home in heaven and was born in a foreign land.
Ester 2:7 And Mordecai had brought up Hadassah, that is, Ester, his uncle's daughter, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman was lovely and beautiful. When her father and mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter.
Ester was an orphan, and was adopted by her cousin Mordecai. The Bride of Yeshua was adopted too.
Galatians 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law(instruction), that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Ester 2:8 So it was, when the king's command and decree were heard, and when many young women were gathered at Shushan the citadel, under the custody of Hegai, that Ester also was taken to the king's palace, into the care of Hegai the custodian of the women.
Ester means “start, brilliance, light” symbols “the synagogue/church”, all those who have accepted Yeshua between the day of Pentecost and the Rapture. We are His future bride. This fits nicely in the meaning of the letter Beit.
We are not sure if Ester went against her will or not.
Ester 2:9 Now the young woman pleased him, and she obtained his favor; so he readily gave beauty preparations to her, besides her allowance. Then seven choice maidservants were provided for her from the king's palace, and he moved her and her maidservants to the best place in the house of the women.
pleased him - This shows HaShem’s control of the situation.
Ester 2:10 Ester had not revealed her people or family, for Mordecai had charged her not to reveal it.
This was possibly done because of Anti-Semitic members of the king’s court.
Ezra 4:6 And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, wrote they to him an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.
Ester 2:11 And every day Mordecai paced in front of the court of the women's quarters, to learn of Ester's welfare and what was happening to her.
The Bride of Yeshua is under His protection, just as Ester was under Mordecai’s protection.
Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Messiah is the head of the synagogue/church, His body, of which He is the Savior.
Just as Ester is separated from Mordecai so the Bride of Yeshua is separated from Him at this time.
Ester is now under the care of Hegai. The Bride of Yeshua is now under the care of Ruach HaKodesh.
Ester 2:12-14 Each young woman's turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months' preparation, according to the regulations for the women, for thus were the days of their preparation apportioned: six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women. Thus prepared, each young woman went to the king, and she was given whatever she desired to take with her from the women's quarters to the king's palace. In the evening she went, and in the morning she returned to the second house of the women, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king's eunuch who kept the concubines. She would not go in to the king again unless the king delighted in her and called for her by name.
Ester under went a purification process before being presented to the king; Yeshua’s blood purifies those in the body of Messiah.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law(instruction) purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Ester was preparing for life in the palace and was no longer a foreigner living in the kingdom but was a fellow citizen. When we become followers of Yeshua, we are also no longer foreigners to G-d’s kingdom.
Ephesians 2:19-22 "Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with G-d's people and members of G-d's HOUSEHOLD, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Messiah Yeshua himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a Holy TEMPLE in the L-rd. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which G-d lives by his Spirit.
