Sh'mot 34:1 Now the L-RD said to Moshe, "Cut out for yourself two stone tablets like the former ones, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the former tablets which you shattered.
Here we see the tablets of G-d rising again after being crushed for the people's transgressions. Earlier, we saw while the people were sinners the tablets were crushed. Because of the people's sin the enforcement of the tablets would have meant death to the people if they had not been crushed. The type points again to the real deal -Yeshua who also rose after being crushed for our transgressions. While we were yet sinners Yeshua died for us and rose again.
Romans 5:7-11 But G-d demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of G-d through Him. For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to G-d through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only this, but we also exult in G-d through our L-rd Yeshua HaMashiach, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
The corresponding Hebrew letter to this chapter is lamed - teaching, learning and purpose.
Sh'mot 34:2-7 So be ready by morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to Me on the top of the mountain. And no man is to come up with you, nor let any man be seen anywhere on the mountain; even the flocks and the herds may not graze in front of this mountain." So he cut out two stone tablets like the former ones, and Moshe rose up early in the morning and went up to Mount Sinai, as the L-RD had commanded him, and he took two stone tablets in his hand. And the L-RD descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the L-RD. Then the L-RD passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "YUD-HEH-VAV-HEH!!! Yud-Heh-Vav-Heh [Adonai] is G-d, merciful and compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in loving kindness and truth; who keeps loving kindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations. "
The tablets are a standard of perfection. If one did not follow the tablets there were consequences that would lead to eternal death. HaShem looked upon Moshe who became their advocate. There may be still consequences but they are not necessarily the consequences mentioned in the instruction. Mercy is available. Yeshua was the Word and perfection. "And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us". The living tabernacle, the living Word, the living Torah, the living Son of G-d. The Father looks on Him who is our advocate. There are consequences to those who ignore this truth and reject the mercy of the Father and do not follow the Son. Mercy was shown to the people during these times. Sometimes in His mercy He still blesses us even when we do not deserve it. He could have rejected the animal sacrifice at any time. We know that what His Son did for us is available to those that trust the truth and are obedient to the Father. He could have rejected the Son also. He is merciful, showing loving kindness to millions, and forgiving our iniquities, transgressions, and sins through His Son. When we were yet sinners and we were still obstinate, the Messiah died in our place and rose again presenting Himself to the Father above now and forever. . All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of G-d. We all were obstinate at one time or another. The only exception -Yeshua became perfection and the true PURPOSE of the Torah was to point to Yeshua.
Galatians 3:24-26 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Messiah, that we might be justified by faith.
He is our Righteousness. Yeshua HaMashiach purpose was to please the Father by being obedient to the point of death. The purpose of the Torah was to point to our need. Our need for the mercy of the Father brought to us through the Son who was victorious for us. G-d supplies all our needs through His riches in glory through Yeshua HaMashiach. Now to our G-d and Father be the glory forever and ever. Without the Son we would face death; but the son was crushed for our sake. We only need to believe. He cancels out the eternal death that was coming to us because of our sin of not following the tablets.
Hebrews 9:11-17 But when Messiah appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to G-d, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living G-d? ...And for this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, in order that since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it. For a covenant is valid only when men are dead, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives.
Colossians 2:13-15 You were dead in sins, and your sinful desires were not yet cut away. Then he gave you a share in the very life of Messiah, for he forgave all your sins, and blotted out the charges proved against you, the list of his commandments that you had not obeyed. He took this list of sins and destroyed it by nailing it to Messiah's execution stake. In this way G-d took away Satan's power to accuse you of sin, and G-d openly displayed to the whole world Messiah's triumph at the execution stake where your sins were all taken away.
Sh'mot 34:8-9 And Moshe made haste to bow low toward the earth and worship. And he said, "If now I have found favor in your sight, O L-rd, I pray, let the L-rd go along in our midst, even though the people are so obstinate; and do you pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as your own possession."
When we come to the Messiah we are also taken as His possession and by doing so do the will of the Father.
Titus 2:11-14 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great G-d and Savior, Yeshua HaMashiach; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
Sh'mot 34:10-17 Then G-d said, "Look, I am going to make a covenant. Before all your people I will perform miracles which have not been produced in all the earth, nor among any of the nations; and all the people among whom you live will see the working of the L-RD, for it is a fearful thing that I am going to perform with you. Be sure to observe what I am commanding you this day: Look, I am going to drive out the Emori (Amorite) before you, and the Kena'ani (Canaanite), the Hitti (Hittite), the P'rizi (Perizzite), the Hivi (Hivite) and the Y'vusi (Jebusite). Watch yourself that you make no covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you are going, lest it become a snare in your midst. But rather, you are to tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars and cut down their sacred poles (Asherim) --for you shall not worship any other god, for the L-RD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous G-d -- lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land and they play the harlot with their gods, and sacrifice to their gods, and someone invite you to eat of his sacrifice; and you take some of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters play the harlot with their gods, and cause your sons also to play the harlot with their gods. You shall make for yourself no molten gods.
I would imagine, today this would be considered a hate crime against others. If you want to follow the one true G-d you must serve Him alone. If you see the Son you see the Father. HaShem is still One. This does not contradict the Torah.
Mark 12:29 Yeshua answered, "The foremost is, 'Hear, O Israel! The L-rd our G-d is ONE L-rd;
Ya'akov (James) 2:19 You believe that G-d is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
2 Yochanan (John) 1:9-10 Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Messiah, does not have G-d; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.
The son would come and perform miracles, which have not been produced in all the earth, and will come but in the future. He will return again to destroy the enemies of Israel and stop the leaders of darkness from ruling in depravity. He will drive out all and that includes the Palestinians. That includes those that follow other gods or demons, which are nothing more than fallen angels that were created by Him. They do not care for those that worship them they will only use you and then destroy you. G-d cannot allow darkness to rule over the earth for long or the whole earth and all the people would have been destroyed. Our fight is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and leaders of darkness.
Ephesians 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. NAS
Z'kharyah (Zechariah) 12:7-9 "The L-RD also will save the tents of Y'hudah first in order that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim may not be magnified above Y'hudah. "In that day the L-RD will defend the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like G-d, like the angel of the L-RD before them. "And it will come about in that day that I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Yerushalayim.
