Yechezk'el 11:1-4 Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the L-RD that faces east. There at the entrance to the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Ya'azanyah (Jaazaniah) son of Azur and P'latyahu (Pelatiah) son of B'nayahu (Benaiah), leaders of the people. The L-RD said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city. They say, `Will it not soon be time to build houses? This city is a cooking pot, and we are the meat.' Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man."
These men represent the civil government in Judah. They were giving wicked advice to the remaining citizens of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem). They were false witnesses.
Yechezk'el 11:5-6 Then the Spirit of the L-RD came upon me, and He told me to say: "This is what the L-RD says: That is what you are saying, O house of Israel, but I know what is going through your mind. You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead.
The Spirit - This is Ruach HaKodesh. Some do not believe that the Ruach is an actual person. They believe that "the spirit" is just an in personal force. Here we see the spirit (Ruach) being referred to as He and is also speaking. "He told me to say."
I know what is going through your mind. - G-d only is all knowing. He is omniscient. He alone can read your mind.
Yechezk'el 11:7-12 "Therefore this is what the Sovereign L-RD says: The bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it. You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign L-RD. I will drive you out of the city and hand you over to foreigners and inflict punishment on you. You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the L-RD. This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. And you will know that I am the L-RD, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you."
Execute judgment - G-d brings judgment on the children of Israel because they did not obey His commandments but allowed the pagan nations around them to influence them. G-d will turn them over to their enemies for judgment.
Yechezk'el 11:13 Now as I was prophesying, P'latyahu (Pelatiah) son of B'nayahu (Benaiah) died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, "Ah, Sovereign L-RD! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?"
P'latyahu died. - This would really be shocking to see him keel over on the spot. Yechezk'el was afraid that HaShem would destroy them all.
HaShem will restore Israel.
The corresponding letter to this chapter is Koph-crowning accomplishment.
Yechezk'el 11:14-15 The word of the L-RD came to me: "Son of man, your brothers-your brothers who are your blood relatives and the whole house of Israel-are those of whom the people of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) have said, `They are far away from the L-RD; this land was given to us as our possession.'
These men of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) where saying that the whole land was given to them as a possession because the ones in captivity were out of the picture.
