Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) Chapter 12

Yechezk'el 12:1 The "WORD of the L-RD" came to me:

Notice it states, "Word of the L-rd". This could just mean His message, but does it mean more?

Who is the "Word of the L-rd"?

According to Yochanan (John) 1:1 In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with G-d, and was G-d.

Yochanan (John) 1:14 and the W-RD became flesh and dwelt among us.

Yeshua was and is the Word that dwelt among us. He was with G-d and was and is G-d. Many today are still rebellious of this truth.

The corresponding letter to this chapter is Lamed - teaching and learning

Yechezk'el 12:2 "Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people.

Many today are spiritually blind and deaf to the truth of the Messiah.

Yechezk'el 12:2 3-6 "Therefore, son of man, pack your belongings for exile and in the daytime, as they watch, set out and go from where you are to another place. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house. During the daytime, while they watch, bring out your belongings packed for exile. Then in the evening, while they are watching, go out like those who go into exile. While they watch, dig through the wall and take your belongings out through it. Put them on your shoulder as they are watching and carry them out at dusk. Cover your face so that you cannot see the land, for I have made you a sign to the house of Israel."

Yechezk'el (Ezekiel), the son of man, would go outside the wall and go into exile. His face would be covered. This would be a sign for Israel and also for Tzidkiyahu (Zedekiah), the prince referred to here, concerning their captivity.

In contrast, this also is a sign pointing to a long-term prophecy concerning the future Prince of Peace, Yeshua Ha Mashiach. Yeshua came to lead Israel from the captivity of their sin.

The "Son of man" is also a title of the Messiah and refers to His human nature. He would carry the execution stake outside the city. He would be exiled to another world in front of all kinds of rebellious people.

Mattityahu (Matthew) 27:39-44 And those passing by were hurling abuse at Him, wagging their heads, and saying, "You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of G-d, come down from the stake." In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him, and saying, "He saved others; He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the execution stake, and we shall believe in Him. "He trusts in G-d; let Him deliver Him now, if He takes pleasure in Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of G-d.'" And the robbers also who had been crucified with Him were casting the same insult at Him.

Yeshua then departed:

Mattityahu (Matthew) 27:50 Yeshua cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

At dusk, His body was then placed in a tomb inside a wall with His only possessions. He would be covered with linen including His face.

Mattityahu (Matthew) 27:57-61 And when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Yosef, who himself had also become a disciple of Yeshua. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Yeshua. Then Pilate ordered it to be given over to him. And Yosef took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away.

Does Israel today recognize this sign or the long-term fulfillment concerning the future Prince of Peace who came to take them away from the captivity of their sin?

Yechezk'el 12:7-11 So I did as I was commanded. During the day I brought out my things packed for exile. Then in the evening I dug through the wall with my hands. I took my belongings out at dusk, carrying them on my shoulders while they watched. In the morning the word of the L-RD came to me: "Son of man, did not that rebellious house of Israel ask you, `What are you doing?' "Say to them, `This is what the Sovereign L-RD says: This oracle concerns the prince in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) and the whole house of Israel who are there.'

This sign was a short-term prophecy about the captivity of Israel and a copy was sent to Tzidkiyahu (Zedekiah). The long-term prophecy concerned the future prince or prince of peace of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem). The government will rest on His shoulders like Yechezk'el's (Ezekiel's) possessions rested on his shoulders.

Yesha'yahu (Isaiah) 9:6-7 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the "GOVERNMENT WILL REST ON HIS SHOULDERS"; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty G-d, Eternal Father, PRINCE of PEACE. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the L-RD of hosts will accomplish this.

Acts 5:31-32 "He is the one whom G-d exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. "And we are witnesses of these things; and so is Ruach HaKodesh, whom G-d has given to those who obey Him."
