Yechezk'el 15:1 Then the word of the L-RD came to me saying,
Word of the L-rd - Yeshua is known as the "word of the L-rd". This is who is speaking, Yeshua. He again addresses Yechezk'el as "the son of man".
Yechezk'el 15:2-8 "Son of man, how is the wood of the vine better than any wood of a branch which is among the trees of the forest? "Can wood be taken from it to make anything, or can men take a peg from it on which to hang any vessel? "If it has been put into the fire for fuel, and the fire has consumed both of its ends, and its middle part has been charred, is it then useful for anything? "Look, while it is intact, it is not made into anything. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it still be made into anything! "Therefore, thus says the L-rd G-D, 'As the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem); and I set My face against them. Though they have come out of the fire, yet the fire will consume them. Then you will know that I am the L-RD, when I set My face against them. 'Thus I will make the land desolate, because they have acted unfaithfully,' "declares the L-rd G-D.
This passage describes Israel and her relationship with HaShem. Yesha'Yahu (Isaiah) also describes the relationship between Israel and HaShem using a vineyard.
Yesha'Yahu (Isaiah) 5:1-7 Let me sing now for my well-beloved A song of my beloved concerning His vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard on a fertile hill. And He dug it all around, removed its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. And He built a tower in the middle of it, And hewed out a wine vat in it; Then He expected it to produce good grapes, But it produced only worthless ones. "And now, O inhabitants of Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) and men of Judah, Judge between Me and My vineyard. "What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it?, Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones? "So now let Me tell you what I am going to do to My vineyard: I will remove its hedge and it will be consumed; I will break down its wall and it will become trampled ground. "And I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned or hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also charge the clouds to rain no rain on it." For the vineyard of the L-RD of hosts is the house of Israel, And the men of Judah His delightful plant., Thus He looked for justice, but behold, bloodshed; For righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.
The L-rd G-d takes away His support of Israel as a nation.
The corresponding letter to this chapter is Samech- Divine presence and support; stands for the Holy of Holies of the temple.
Unfaithfulness is the sin.
Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, but who can find a faithful man? Proverbs 20:6
They were to be set apart and declare the glory of the One true G-d. This was for His glory. The other nations would then take notice and see His glory. They were not serving their purpose, which is to live for G-d.
Today believers are to declare what was hidden to some back in Bible times. They had to look forward to the ultimate offering, Yeshua HaMashiach. Today we have to look back to the "Son of man', also known as Yeshua. Lack of faith in the "Son of man", Yeshua, is wide spread. His mercy is not spread to others by Israel. A remnant does and will during Ya'akov's trouble. We too are to declare the mercy of the Father through the Son. His goodness alone is what eternally saves us. Have faith and trust in Him and you will be saved. He is our support for our eternal salvation. We are to tell others this truth and plant the seed and fruit will be produced. We do not do the saving; the L-rd does this and what the L-rd G-d is concerned with.
John 15:1-11 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit. "You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing. "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch, and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you. "By this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. "Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love. "These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
