Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) Chapter 22

The letter Tahv corresponds to this chapter -Tahv - truth; perfection

His standard is perfection. Whom the L-rd loves the L-rd disciplines.

Mishlei (Proverbs) 3:11-12 My son, do not despise the L-RD's discipline and do not resent His rebuke, because the L-RD disciplines those He loves, as a father the son he delights in.

Yechezk'el 22:1-12 Then the word of the L-RD came to me saying, "And you, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? Then cause her to know all her abominations. "And you shall say, 'Thus says the L-rd G-D," A city shedding blood in her midst, so that her time will come, and that makes idols, contrary to her interest, for defilement! "You have become guilty by the blood which you have shed, and defiled by your idols which you have made. Thus you have brought your day near and have come to your years; therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mocking to all the lands. "Those who are near and those who are far from you will mock you, you of ill repute, full of turmoil. "Look, the rulers of Israel, each according to his power, have been in you for the purpose of shedding blood. "They have treated father and mother lightly within you. The alien they have oppressed in your midst; the fatherless and the widow they have wronged in you. "You have despised My holy things and profaned My sabbaths. "Slanderous men have been in you for the purpose of shedding blood, and in you they have eaten at the mountain shrines. In your midst they have committed acts of lewdness. "In you they have uncovered their fathers' nakedness; in you they have humbled her who was unclean in her menstrual impurity. "And one has committed abomination with his neighbor's wife, and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. And another in you has humbled his sister, his father's daughter. "In you they have taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and profits, and you have injured your neighbors for gain by oppression, and you have forgotten Me," declares the L-rd G-D.

Abominations - Israel's sins included murder, oppression of others (especially the fatherless and the widow), they profaned the Sabbath, shedding blood, and paganism (eating at mountain shrines). Also we have over indulgence in sex, adultery, incest, hiring hit men, and charging usury (interest). The list goes on: taking things from their neighbors instead of helping their fellow man. These kinds of acts are becoming rampant today too, among other things, and is deserving of the L-rd's wrath.

Romans 2:1-16 Well," you may be saying, "what terrible people you have been talking about!" But wait a minute! You are just as bad. When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are talking about yourselves, for you do these very same things. And we know that G-d, in justice, will punish anyone who does such things as these. Do you think that G-d will judge and condemn others for doing them and overlook you when you do them, too? Don't you realize how patient he is being with you? Or don't you care? Can't you see that he has been waiting all this time without punishing you, to give you time to turn from your sin? His kindness is meant to lead you to repentance. But no, you won't listen; and so you are saving up terrible punishment for yourselves because of your stubbornness in refusing to turn from your sin; for there is going to come a day of wrath when G-d will be the just Judge of all the world. He will give each one whatever his deeds deserve. He will give eternal life to those who patiently do the will of G-d, seeking for the unseen glory and honor and eternal life that he offers. But he will terribly punish those who fight against the truth of G-d and walk in evil ways-G-d's anger will be poured out upon them. There will be sorrow and suffering for Jews and Gentiles alike who keep on sinning. But there will be glory and honor and peace from G-d for all who obey him, whether they are Jews or Gentiles. For G-d treats everyone the same. He will punish sin wherever it is found. He will punish the heathen when they sin, even though they never had G-d's written laws, for down in their hearts they know right from wrong. G-d's laws are written within them; their own conscience accuses them, or sometimes excuses them. And G-d will punish the Jews for sinning because they have His written laws but don't obey them. They know what is right but don't do it. After all, salvation is not given to those who know what to do, unless they do it. The day will surely come when at G-d's command Yeshua HaMashiach will judge the secret lives of everyone, their inmost thoughts and motives; this is all part of G-d's great plan, which I proclaim.

Yechezk'el 22:13-16 "Look, then, I smite My hand at your dishonest gain which you have acquired and at the bloodshed which is among you. "Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with you? I, the L-RD, have spoken and shall act. "And I shall scatter you among the nations, and I shall disperse you through the lands, and I shall consume your uncleanness from you. "And you will profane yourself in the sight of the nations, and you will know that I am the L-RD."' "

Disperse you through the lands - This is still being seen today as many Jewish people continue to live outside of Israel.
