Yechezk'el (Ezekiel) Chapter 6

Yechezk'el 6:1-3 And the word of the L-RD came to me saying, "Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, and say,' Mountains of Israel, listen to the word of the L-rd G-D! Thus says the L-rd G-D to the mountains, the hills, the ravines and the valleys: "Look, I Myself am going to bring a sword on you, and I will destroy your high places.

Mountains of Israel - this expression is also used in Ezek. 36.

Today the nation of Israel lives again. The land is filled with millions of trees. It is no longer a desolate wasteland.

The "dry bones" prophecy of Ezekiel 37 is fulfilled today. The rising again of Israel is a picture of the Messiah dying and rising again.

To bring a sword on you - Here we see judgment and anguish.

The 6th Hebrew letter, which corresponds to this chapter, is Vav. It stands for man and hook, redemption and transformation.

High Places - pagan gods are often worshipped on the tops of hills and mountains.

G-d warned against this in Vayikra:

Vayikra (Leviticus) 26:27-33 Yet if in spite of this, you do not obey Me, but act with hostility against Me, then I will act with wrathful hostility against you; and I, even I, will punish you seven times for your sins. 'Further, you shall eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters you shall eat. 'I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and heap your remains on the remains of your idols; for My soul shall abhor you. 'I will lay waste your cities as well, and will make your sanctuaries desolate; and I will not smell your soothing aromas. 'And I will make the land desolate so that your enemies who settle in it shall be appalled over it. 'You, however, I will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste.

"High places" was also seen in 2 Kings 21:3. Rebuilt "high places" - worshiping other gods and Manasseh is rebuilding them.

M'lakhim Bet (2 Kings) 21:1-7 M'nasheh (Manasseh) was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Yerushalayim; and his mother's name was Heftzibah (Hephzibah). And he did evil in the sight of the L-RD, according to the abominations of the nations whom the L-RD dispossessed before the sons of Israel. For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he erected altars for Ba'al and made an Asherah, as Ach'av (Ahab) king of Israel had done, and worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. And he built altars in the house of the L-RD, of which the L-RD had said, "In Yerushalayim I will put My name." For he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the L-RD. And he made his son pass through the fire, practiced witchcraft and used divination, and dealt with mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the L-RD provoking Him to anger. Then he set the carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which the L-RD said to David and to his son Shlomo (Solomon),

Yechezk'el 6:4-7 "So your altars will become desolate, and your images will be smashed; and I shall make your slain fall in front of your idols. "I shall also lay the dead bodies of the sons of Israel in front of their idols; and I shall scatter your bones around your altars. "In all your dwellings, cities will become waste and the high places will be desolate, that your altars may become waste and desolate, your idols may be broken and brought to an end, your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be blotted out. "And the slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am the L-RD.

Images -The Hebrew word is "Chamman" a sun-pillar:

This is also referred to in the following passage.

M'lakhim Bet (2 Kings) 23:11 And he did away with the horses which the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of the L-RD, by the chamber of Nathan-melech the official, which was in the precincts; and he burned the chariots of the sun with fire.

Yechezk'el 6:8-10 "However, I shall leave a remnant, for you will have those who escaped the sword among the nations when you are scattered among the countries. "Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations to which they will be carried captive, how I have been hurt by their adulterous hearts which turned away from Me, and by their eyes, which played the harlot after their idols; and they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed, for all their abominations. "Then they will know that I am the L-RD; I have not said in vain that I would inflict this disaster on them."'

Idol - The Hebrew word is "giluwleeyhem". It literally means, "dung gods". In Matthew chapter 12 the word "Beelzebub", means the same thing in Aramaic.

Mattityahu (Matthew) 12:24-29 "This man casts out demons only by Beelzebub the ruler of the demons." And knowing their thoughts He said to them, "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself shall not stand. "And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? "And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? Consequently they shall be your judges. "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of G-d, then the kingdom of G-d has come upon you.

Don't follow the dung god for you will be flushed down with him.

First seek the kingdom of G-d's "SON"-Yeshua HaMashiach.

Mattityahu (Matthew) 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness;

Yeshua will make all mountains low.

Yechezk'el 38:19-20 "And in My zeal and in My blazing wrath I declare that on that day there will surely be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. "And the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all the creeping things that creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the face of the earth will shake at My presence; the mountains also will be thrown down, the steep pathways will collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground.

Yechezk'el 6:11-14 "Thus says the L-rd G-D, 'Clap your hand, stamp your foot, and say," Alas, because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, which will fall by sword, famine, and plague! "He who is far off will die by the plague, and he who is near will fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged will die by the famine. Thus shall I spend My wrath on them. "Then you will know that I am the L-RD, when their slain are among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every green tree, and under every thick pistachio tree -- the places where they offered soothing aroma to all their idols. "So throughout all their habitations I shall stretch out My hand against them and make the land more desolate and waste than the wilderness toward Divlah; thus they will know that I am the L-RD."' "

Divlah -wilderness of the Arabian Desert.

The same will come against the world in the future after they follow the ten kings, the beast, the dragon (dung god), the false prophet and the anti-Messiah.

Revelation 13:4 - 6 And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast; and they worshiped the dragon, because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?" And there was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies; and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him. And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against G-d, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven.

Revelation 17:12-18 "And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they receive authority as kings with the beast for one hour. "These have one purpose and they give their power and authority to the beast. "These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is L-rd of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful." And he said to me, "The waters which you saw where the harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes and nations and tongues. "And the ten horns which you saw, and the beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh and will burn her up with fire. "For G-d has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of G-d should be fulfilled. "And the woman whom you saw is the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth."

Revelation 13:11-18 And I saw another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. And he performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the presence of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform in the presence of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound of the sword and has come to life. And there was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast might even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand, or on their forehead, and he provides that no one should be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. (WWW)

Revelation 18:1-11 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory. And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! And she has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird. "For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality." And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you may not participate in her sins and that you may not receive of her plagues; for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and G-d has remembered her iniquities. "Pay her back even as she has paid, and give back to her double according to her deeds; in the cup which she has mixed, mix twice as much for her. "To the degree that she glorified herself and lived sensuously, to the same degree give her torment and mourning; for she says in her heart, 'I sit as a queen and I am not a widow, and will never see mourning.' "For this reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the L-rd G-d who judges her is strong. "And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying,' Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.'
