Hebrews Chapter 13

Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.

Love One Another

Yeshua told us this in:

John 15:17: "These things I command you, that ye love one another."

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Show hospitality to strangers, lest they be angels. (cf. Gen. 18:1)

Hebrews 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

Remember (and pray) for those in prison or those ill-treated for their faith in Yeshua.

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers G-d will judge.

Keep moral application. (Love G-d and Love others.)

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

We should be content with what we have. The L-rd supplies all our needs, not all our wants. He will also never leave us nor forsake us.

Hebrews 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The L-rd is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

We can say with confidence: The L-rd is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

Ps 118:1-6 O give thanks unto the L-RD; for He is good: because His mercy endureth for ever. Let Israel now say, that His mercy endureth for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say, that His mercy endureth for ever. Let them now that fear the L-RD say, that His mercy endureth for ever. I called upon the L-RD in distress: the L-RD answered me, and set me in a large place. The L-RD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?

Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of G-d: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

Imitate the faith (trusting) of those before us, those who spoke the Word and those in Ch. 11

Hebrews 13:8 Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ) the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Yeshua HaMashiach is the same yesterday, today, yes and forever.

Hebrews 13:9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

Do not be carried away by other strange teachings. Our hearts are to be strengthened by Yeshua's grace and mercy.

Hebrews 13:10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.

Hebrews 13:11-14 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the High Priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Yeshua also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto Him without the camp, bearing His reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Yeshua died for our atonement outside the city just as the animals offered for the atonement of Israel were burned outside the camp. We are to separate ourselves from the sins of this world and live holy lives.

Hebrews 13:15-16 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to G-d continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices G-d is well pleased.

Lets continue to praise G-d though him. Be good and share this with others. Obey your leaders and submit.

Hebrews 13:17-21 for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. Now the G-d of peace, that brought again from the dead our L-rd Yeshua, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Yeshua HaMashiach; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
