John Chapter 14 (Continued)

John 14:8-11 Philip said to Him, "L-rd, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." Yeshua (Jesus) said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.

Here we have another announcement of Yeshua’s deity.

John 14:12-14 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father. And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Of course it should be according to the will of G-d. That is why He said to pray “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. The children of G-d continue to increase and the kingdom increases. Our kingdom is in heaven above not on the earth. This does not mean there will not be an earthly kingdom for 1,000 years. We will also be able to travel to the earth to teach those still on the earth. There will still be some who will see Him and still not want to accept Him.

Some use these verses to command G-d to answer their prayer requests. We are not to command G-d. G-d is not a Genie in a bottle.

John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

We keep them out of love not obligation.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever;

The comforter is Ruach HaKodesh.

John 14:17-18 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

If they did not hear Moshe they would not believe (trust) if one came from the dead.

Luke 16:19-31There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they, which would pass from here to you, cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from there. Then he said, I pray you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father's house: For I have five brothers; that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went to them from the dead, they will repent. And he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

We come to the meaning of the 14th Hebrew letter, which is “Nun - faithfulness; soul; downfall and rising again. He must die and raise again, the meaning of “Nun”. We trust in Yeshua and His word and that He rose and we will one day rise also. (v19)

Ruach HaKodesh indwells us like it indwelled the physical temple and indwells in our bodies or our temple.

1 Cor 6:19-20 What? Don’t you know that your body is the temple of Ruach HaKodesh which is in you, which you have of G-d, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify G-d in your body, and in your spirit, which are G-d's.

John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you see me: because I live, you shall live also

John 14:20 At that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

Yeshua is in us and we are in Him.

John 14:21 He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

We keep His commandments out of love. The commandments are from the Father. We trust in His Son and to keep His word and to be an example of His love. Love is willing to trust in the power of G-d.

John 14:22-23 Judas said to Him, not Iscariot, L-rd, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world? Jesus (Yeshua) answered and said to him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

John 14:24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

This word is also from the Father.

The meaning of “NUN” includes - faithfulness; downfall and rising again.

John 14:25 "These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is Ruach HaKodesh, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring ALL THINGS to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said to you.

2 Tim 2:6-10 The husbandman that labors must be first partaker of the fruits. Consider what I say; and the L-rd gives you understanding in ALL THINGS. Remember that Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ) of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel (Basar of death, burial and resurrection): Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evildoer, even to bonds; but the word of G-d is not bound.

Therefore I endure ALL THINGS for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation (completion) which is in Yeshua HaMashiach (Christ Jesus) with eternal glory.

Ruach Ha Kodesh worked in and taught the disciples and what to write in the letters of the Brit Hadashah “All things” were brought to their remembrance what He had said.

1 Cor 2:10-13 But G-d has revealed them to us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searches ALL THINGS, yes, the deep things of G-d. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man, which is in him? Even so the things of G-d knows no man, but the Spirit of G-d. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit, which is of G-d; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of G-d. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which Ruach HaKodesh teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

John 14:27-28 "Peace (Shalom) I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. "You heard that I said to you, 'I go away, and I will come to you.' If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.

He tells them they should be willing to let Him go because He is returning to where He came and to His former glory He gave up. His glory was hidden. He would not contradict His statements earlier that He is equal to the Father. (v 7-11) but subordinate to the Father. He submits to what the Father asks willingly out of love. They are also One. If you see Yeshua, you see the Father.

John 14:29-31 "And now I have told you BEFORE it comes to pass, that when it comes to pass, you may believe. "I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go from here.

Yeshua’s final words to them is REMEMBER I TOLD YOU THIS IN ADVANCE. The ruler of the world is Satan.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Messiah (Christ), who is the image of G-d, should shine to them.

"Peace (Shalom) I leave with you;

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of G-d, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus).
