Yonah (Jonah) Chapter 4 (Continued)

Yonah 4:8 And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that G-d prepared a scorching east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Yonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live. a scorching east wind - a hot scorching wind that blew from the Arabian Desert.

Yonah 4:9 And G-d said to Yonah, Is it right for you to be so angry about the castor-bean plant? And he said, I do well to be angry, even to death.

Yonah was very stubborn, even if it meant physical death. There are many who are very stubborn even if it means eternal spiritual death.

Yonah 4:10 Then said Adonai, You have had pity on the castor-bean plant, for the which you have not labored, neither made it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:

Yonah was more upset about the dead plant than He was about the possible loss of life of everyone in the city of Nineveh.

Yonah 4:11 And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, where there are more than 120,000 persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

They could not discern between right and wrong.

Can you not discern between right and wrong when it comes to the true Messiah?

Psalm 80:14-19 O G-d of hosts, turn again now, we beseech Thee; Look down from heaven and see, and take care of this vine, Even the shoot which Thy right hand has planted, And on the son whom you have strengthened for yourself. It is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of your countenance. Let your hand be upon the man of Thy right hand, upon the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself. Then we shall not turn back from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. O L-RD G-d of hosts, restore us; Cause your face to shine on us, and we will be saved.

Luke 20:41-44 And He said to them, "How is it that they say the Messiah (Christ) is David's son? "For David himself says in the book of Psalms, 'The L-rd said to my L-rd, "Sit at My right hand, until I make Thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet. "' "David therefore calls Him 'L-rd,' and how is He his son?"

Should we not try to spare those who do not know Yeshua by telling them about Yeshua who is now and in the future the vine and fig tree that we are under! (Rom. 5:1-11)

Zechariah 3:8-10 'Now listen, Joshua the high priest, you and your friends who are sitting in front of you-- indeed they are men who are a symbol, for look, I am going to bring in My servant the Branch. 'For look, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave an inscription on it,' declares the L-RD of hosts,' and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. 'In that day,' declares the L-RD of hosts,' every one of you will invite his neighbor to sit under his vine and under his fig tree.' " NAS

Micah 4:3-4 And He will judge between many peoples and render decisions for mighty, distant nations. Then they will hammer their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and never again will they train for war. And each of them will sit under his vine and under his fig tree, With no one to make them afraid, for the mouth of the L-RD of hosts has spoken (NAS)
