1 John 5:10 He that believes on the Son of G-d has the witness in himself: he that believeth not G-d has made him a liar; because he believes not the record that G-d gave of his Son.
We have Ruach HaKodesh indwelling in us like the Ruach indwelt the Holy of Holies. So we know truth when we hear it and the Ruach reveals that it is the word of G-d.
If we refuse to accept the testimony of the Father concerning His Son, Yeshua, we are calling G-d a liar. This is the ultimate form of blasphemy.
1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that G-d hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
1 John 5:12 He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of G-d has not (eternal) life.
1 John 5:13 These things have I written to you that believe on the name of the Son of G-d; that you may KNOW that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of G-d.
Those of us who believe in Yeshua the Son of G-d are assured of eternal life. WE KNOW we have eternal life.
There are 5 assurances of the life of the believer:
Assurance of eternal life is the first certainty of the believer.
Yeshua said “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one gets to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us:
Answered prayer is the second certainty of the believer.
All we have to do is ask for eternal life. Notice it says according to His will. G-d wants all to come to eternal life.
In the Tanakh Na’aman, who had leprosy, was insulted and became angry because the way to healing was not the way he wanted it to be. (2 kings 5:11) Elisha sent a messenger to him to receive this blessing by a certain way. Only by washing himself in the Yarden (Jordan) River seven times was he to receive healing. Instead of listening to the prophet, he wanted his cleansing to happen another way.
Na’aman servants said, “My father! If the prophet had asked you to do something really difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So doesn’t it make sense to do what he says, when it’s only, Bathe, and be clean?
So Na’aman went down and immersed himself seven times in the Yarden, as the man of G-d said to do; and his skin was restored and became like the skin of a child; and he became clean. (2 kings 5:14)
This is a foreshadowing of the new covenant. The same type of picture can be said in regards to receiving the ultimate healing to eternal salvation. If the prophet had asked you to do something really difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So doesn’t it make sense to do what he says?
Ask and believe the Father sent the son to take away our sin, or filthy rags, and make them clean.
1 John 5:15 And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we desired of Him.
Again, remember “according to His will.” He wants us to have the desires of our hearts just as you want your children to have their desires.G-d is NOT a genie in a bottle at our beck and call to grant our wishes. He answers our prayers, when our hearts are right with Him.
1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he will ask, and he will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he will pray for it.
John is referring to physical death. There is sin, which will cause G-d to take one out of this life; however, he cannot take away a child of G-d’s promise to eternal life. One example of a sin, which leads to death, is in Acts 5.
Another one would be not honoring your father or mother.
Ex 20:12 Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land, which the L-RD thy G-d gives you.
1 John 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
We have all sinned and if they all required physical death we all would have been taken home to be with L-rd along time ago.
1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of G-d sins not; but he that is begotten of G-d keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not.
Of course this is not implying that we are without sin because that would not conform to other scripture, which says if we say we have no sin the truth is not with us. (1 John 1:8)
If whoever will keep the whole instructions from G-d and stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. (James 2:10)
This does not mean we violated every commandment but have violated the unity of the whole thing. One transgression makes fulfilling the commands impossible. None of us is without transgression.
John is saying our new nature desires for things above and has a desire for G-d and to follow Him.
Victory over sin and Satan is the third certainty of the believer.
1 John 5:19 And we know that we are of G-d, and the whole world lies in wickedness.
We belong to G-d is the forth certainty of the believer.
Matt 7:13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. "For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it.
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of G-d is come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son (Yeshua HaMashiach) Jesus Christ. This is the true G-d, and eternal life.
That Yeshua is the true G-d is the fifth certainty of the believer.
1 John 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
We do not pray to any statues this includes statues of Miryam. We also do not pray to anyone but G-d.
Miryam, herself, would not be happy with many who pray to a statue, picture, or to anyone other than G-d.
