Matt 28:1 -After Shabbat, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Miryam of Magdala and the other Miryam went to see the tomb.
Miryam of Magdala - Mary Magdalene
Began to dawn - “Epiphosko” is the Greek word used here. It has two possible meanings.
Luke 23:54 And it was the preparation day, and the Sabbath was about to begin.
The Jewish / Biblical day goes from sundown to sundown, not midnight to midnight. So some believe the Yeshua rose just after sundown on Saturday, which would be Sunday according to the Bible. Others believe that He rose just before sunup on Sunday morning. The important point is that HE ROSE FROM THE GRAVE. :~)
He is the morning star. The light is presented on the first day just as this light was presented on the first day in Genesis.
Genesis 1:5 And G-d called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Rev 22:16-17 I, Yeshua, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches/synagogues. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
All the angels of HaShem are also the angels of Yeshua.
Matt 28:2-3 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for an angel of the L-rd descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
The sixth letter is Vav- hook (link); Completion, redemption and transformation. Stands for man created on the sixth day, etc.
An angel of the L-rd - Note, some translate this as “the angel of the L-rd”. Neither the word “an” nor the word “the” is in the Greek, they have been added by the translators for read ability. The Greek states, “: for angel of the L-rd descended from heaven”. The title “the angel of the L-rd” is a reference to Yeshua. Yeshua did not descend from heaven and roll away the stone. This is just a reference to one of G-d’s angels.
The stone was not a boulder, but a large stone disk, about 6 feet in diameter. The angel, witnessed by the Roman soldiers, rolled it away from the door of the tomb.
Matt 28:4 And for fear of him the guards did shake, and became as dead men.
Scared stiff and to paralyzed to move. Wouldn’t you be?
Matt 28:5-6 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Yeshua (Jesus), who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.
I don't think the angel talked to the Roman guards. However, he was quick to ease the fears of the women.
Wow, what a transformation. He is our “first fruit” and transformed from death to life with an incorruptible body. We will one day be like Yeshua in body. We will still be able to eat.
In Luke we see a description of Yeshua after the resurrection.
Luke 24:37-43 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? Look at My hands and My feet. It is I myself! Touch Me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." When He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet. And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, He asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" They gave Him a piece of broiled fish, and He took it and ate it in their presence.
Death where is your victory?!
1 Corinthians 15:54-57 So when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the (transgression of) law. But thanks be to G-d, which gives us the victory through our L-rd Yeshua HaMashiach.
Isaiah 25:8-9 He will swallow up death forever. Adonai Elohim will wipe away the tears from every face, and He will remove from all the earth the disgrace His people suffer. For Adonai has spoken. On that day they will say, “See! This is our G-d! We waited for Him to save us. This is Adonai; we put our hope in Him. We are full of joy, so glad He saved us!!!
